What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order or when you register your product warranty, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address and (for orders) Credit Card type and number.
We also ask for your telephone number, which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order. For some international deliveries this number may be given to our couriers.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the web site, new komfi products and special offers we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by emailing us at komfisales@gng-group.co.uk. We do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam) and we conform with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998.
How does komfi protect customer information?
The transmission of sensitive information over the web is carried out over a 128bit encrypted link using a THAWTE Secure Certificate (SSL) ensuring that all order information is encrypted before being sent over the Internet. Once received by our server, credit card details are then encrypted again before being stored.
As required by the UK Data Protection Legislation, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information, which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you. You can request that your personal details are removed from our records at any time.
What about "cookies"?
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but they do enable us to provide features such as storing items in your Shopping Cart and tracking where you found us, to assist us with our marketing budgeting. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that. However this may affect your access to our online store.
